Scope and Contents

The album documents barracks life, rifle range acitivity, the Army Service School, Leavenworth prison, engineer training (road march, bivouac, pontoon bridges, walls, base camps, and locomotives (including some from the Paris-Orleans railway), rolling stock (box cars, flat cars, and tank car gondolas), steam shovels, and trucks (5 ton and ambulances). Post-war images include vehicles, buildings, construction (railroad bridge, river lock, river boat crane, barges, paved roads, etc.).

Content Description Collection consists of approximately 150 pieces of correspondence created by the Story and Justus family members and their relations, most of whom resided in Texas and Indian Territory/Oklahoma. Primary correspondents include U.S. Navy sailor Vaughan Story (1919-2007), son of Arthur and Lillie Story; and U.S. Army Sgt. Stanley Story (1915-1981), son of Arthur and Lillie Story. Content Description

An 18th-century commonplace book , used as a cook book, predominantly written in a contemporary hand in black ink. Nearly two hundred and seventy food and beverage recipes from the 18th century. A second hand begins with the date of 1776, and contains twelve recipes. The final six leaves are blank. No specific compiler is identified, though many recipes indicate their source, e.g. Mrs. Broughton, Mrs. Goldsmith, etc.
