Approximately 600 letters, feldbriefs and feldpostcartes to and from Alois, Gottleib Jr., and Max--three sons serving in the German Army--and their family. Many letters are from France, approximately 130 of which are from Gottlieb Jr. written from an English POW camp.

Scope and Contents Archive of Robert Alfred Doring, a non-commissioned officer in the Schutzen-Fusilier Regiment, Prinz Georg (Koniglich Sachsisches) Nr. 108. Born in Wermsdorf, Germany in 1887. Survived the war and was awarded a certificate of 25 years service (Leipzig) by the German Chief of Presidential Chancellery [Otto Meissner] in 1939.
