biographical statement

Award-winning Broadway, film and television actress LYNETTE BENNETT plays in the film noir, The Woman Chaser, as Patrick Warburton’s eccentric, dancing mom. The film’s world premier was held at the prestigious New York Film Festival and was showcased at Robert Redford's hotter-than-ever Sundance Film Festival. Featured in the Nicholas Roeg film, 'Full Body Massage,' starring Mimi Rogers, Lynette played Brian Brown's flashback mom. Her next film, 'The Christmas Child,' runs currently on Lifetime TV. She plays Frau Vaughn in the feature film The Gray Man.

This dynamic actor/singer/dancer co-starred on the Fox Television series Married With Children and Culture Clash, on the drama America’s Most Wanted and on the daytime dramas One Life To Live (ABC) and As the World Turns (CBS). She performed as Susanna Wesley in Portrait of Susanna on NBC's The First Estate and, in London, was featured on the BBC’s popular television series, Nationwide. A career highlight was her guest comedy performance with Johnny Carson on The Tonight Show on NBC.

In high-profile cabaret venues such as Hollywood’s famous Cinegrill, she performs her one-woman show Lynette Sings Jeanette, her song-and- dance salute to film star Jeanette MacDonald. Ms. Bennett has taken her cabaret act (orchestrated by her former pianist Barry Manilow) throughout the U.S.A., Canada and Latin America. She has been Soloist with the Tulsa Philharmonic and starred in the country’s most notable concert halls such as Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center’s Avery Fisher Hall.

During her eight years in London, she sang the comedic role of Mary Sunshine in the hit West End production of the Broadway musical Chicago and played the glamorous title role in the operetta The Merry Widow. She sang a variety of leading opera roles, from The Magic Flute (Queen of Night) to The Merry Wives of Windsor (Mistress Ford). This year in the West End, she played her cabaret act at the Jermyn Street Theatre, London’s current cabaret-of-choice, just off Piccadilly Circus.

On Broadway, she appeared with Barbra Streisand in Funny Girl and with David Hartman in The Yearling. She joined Imogene Coca in the National Company of Once Upon A Mattress and played opposite Hal Linden in Anything Goes. Off-Broadway, she starred as Queen Eleanor in The Lion In Winter and as the elegant comedienne, Aunt Alicia, in Gigi. Lynette has fond memories of playing five shows a day at the famous Radio City Music Hall. Currently, she performs her one-woman shows including Will Rogers’ Romance with Betty and America (which airs on OETA May 21), and Home Lands: The Surprising Women of the West. She is listed in Who’s Who in Entertainment and in Who’s Who of American Women.

A winner of the Drama-Logue Award for 'Waiting for the Parade' at the Tiffany Theatre in Hollywood, Lynette's performance was also nominated for two of L.A.'s Ovation Awards.
