Siegfried Loraine Sassoon, CBE, MC was an English poet, writer, and soldier. Decorated for bravery on the Western Front, he became one of the leading poets of the First World War.

Scope and Contents
This is an artificial collection comprised from several purchases. It includes correspondence, dating from 1931 to 1934, between Sassoon and Thomas Balston of Gerald Duckworth & Co., Ltd., Morchard Bishop, Raymond Mortimer and Arthur Waley, as well as writings including 8 individual autograph poems, a galley proof of This Glib Garland (1931), and drafts, mock-up, and proof copy of Poems by Pinchbeck Lyre (1931). Also included is a 1920 studio portrait of Sassoon inscribed to him by J.B....
