Biography
Etta Ray Beard Lancaster moved from Illinois to Oklahoma to participate in the Land Run of 1889. She met and married Henry G. Beard. They staked a claim in the area that eventually became the town of Shawnee in Pottawatomie County. After he died, she married Jesse Murray Lancaster and moved to Texas.
