Professor of Botany at the University of Tulsa, teaching part-time at the University of Tulsa between 1929 and 1942, later assuming a full-time position in 1942. In 1949, she was promoted to Professor of Botany and in 1953 was appointed Chair of the Botany department. In 1958 she received a National Science Foundation grant for a year of botanical research in the Andes of Colombia, Ecuador and Venezuela. She retired in 1972, at which time she was appointed Professor Emeritus.
