Handwritten caption on verso reads: "Jack Teagarden, famed Texas born trombonist and jazz vocalist. Shown in his dressing room at the Roxy Theatre, New York City, in 1950 during an engagement of Louis Armstrong's All Stars. Patient an cooperative, Teagarden also had a mechanical bent which absorbed many of his off hours."
