The manuscript was acquired in March 2007 from Fredrika Teute at the Omohundro Institute of Early American History and Culture at William and Mary. She had been working with Grabo until his death to get the manuscript into publication shape. After receiving the blessing of the heirs, they deposited the manuscript here. The addendum, consisting of correspondence relating to the manuscript, was acquired from Norman Fiering (Director, The John Carter Brown Library) in 2015.
