The article reproduces quotation from a publication by Ruth Sigler Avery in the Eastern Oklahoma Catholic. Avery, who was writing a book about the Riot, argued that there was a concerted effort to erase the Riot from the history of Tulsa, which included the deliberate disappearance of historical material and the impunity of those responsbile for burning the city's black neighborhood.
