Photocopy of "The Conspiracy of Silence. 62nd anniversary of the 1921 Tulsa race riot" in Oklahoma Eagle from June, 2, 1983. The article reproduces quotation from a publication by Ruth Sigler Avery in the Eastern Oklahoma Catholic. Avery, who was writing a book about the Riot, argued that there was a concerted effort to erase the Riot from the history of Tulsa, which included the deliberate disappearance of historical material and the impunity of those responsbile for burning the city's black neighborhood.
