Bimbo's 365 Club menu, 1957-10-23
Scope and Contents
Bimbo's 365 Club. 1025 Columbus Avenue, San Francisco, California. "Original home of the world famous Girl in the Fish Bowl as featured in Life Magazine." Apparently this was a gimmick unique to the restaurant. A series of projectors and mirrors would broadcast the live image of a nude woman, called "Dolphina," into a fishbowl at the restaurant entrance so that she appeared to be six inches tall and swimming in the aquarium. The woman was actually a model resting on a sofa in the basement of the club. Later, a lifesize statue of Dolphina was unveiled.
Menu and napkin both feature the same illustrated design of a naked woman riding a goldfish. Menu includes dinner items.
