National Guard machine gun crew during Tulsa Race Riot

Scope and Contents

A squad of National Guard troops on a flatbed truck holding an M1917 .30 caliber machine gun. The image is facing southwest between Cincinnati Avenue and Boston Avenue just south of the tracks. The truck is facing 'west' paralleling the Frisco tracks. The image was taken approximately 1 pm, on June 1st 1921.

A "9" is printed on the reverse. Photos B1-B12 are from the same development batch, and notes are in the same handwriting.

The title was supplied by the cataloger. Digital image has been modified from the original for clarity.

The photographer is unidentified.
