Typed on paper on verso: "CC 222463.... (Chicago Bureau). Comes to Earth and Riches. John Stink, 74, a rugged Indian Individualist who for nearly a quarter of a century ignored a fortune fue him from tribal headrights in Osage oil lands and slept in tree tops, is shown above on his return to Pawhuska, Okla., where he was consented to sleep on a cabin porch. He became a tribal outcast more than 50 years ago when he became unconscious during an attack of smallpox and was thoght dead. His fellow tribesmen conducted a funreal (sic) service and left him on a mountainside, unburied. He recover5ed, and on his return to camp the other Indians shunned him, believing him to be a ghost. He had lived as a hermit since then, although his wealth is now estimated at $200,000. BFM#26-A 3-18-37. Your credit line must read "ACME"...."
