Biographical / Historical
On the morning of 6 December 1917, the French Cargo ship Mont-Blanc packed with high explosives collided with the Norwegian vessel SS Imo in Halifax Harbour to Bedford Basin. The resulting explosion killed approximately 2,000 people and an estimated 9,000 others were injured.
