Scope and Contents

Consists of 37 letters between Dickey and colleagues dating from 1957-1971; bibliography of Dickey's works and drafts of his writings including "The First Oil Well" and "One Hundred Years of Oil Geology" as well as the proposed illustrations for each; an interview (in Spanish) between Fernando Guerrero Matheus and Dickey; research and reference materials which include photographs and a blueprint reconstruction of "Old Pumping Power" on the Holtz Bros. Farrell lease in Grand Valley, Pennsylvania, various graphs and charts pertaining to Benjamin Sillman, Jr.'s seep analysis, and unused illustrations.

Biographical / Historical

Parke Atherton Dickey was a petroleum geologist and professor at the University of Tulsa from 1931-1975. He was the Chair of the Earth Sciences department in the 160s and 70s.
