Scope and Contents
Army officer and special agent to the Seminole Indians at the agency on the banks of the Caloosahatchee River, Fla. Personal and official correspondence, limitary orders, a Muskogee phrase book, notes by Casey in a scrapbook of newspaper clippings of the 1850s, and book (1850-1853) of IOndian Agency affairs including council notes, lists of Seminoles, and maps. The letters relate to the removal of the Indians, delegations from Arkansas, and the “Blake episode.”
