Ben Byrnes collection of Charles Gaston Clement letters

Scope and Contents Contains many of the letters of Charles G. Clement home during the first part of his time in the army. Also contains materials noting his mother's search to discover where he was buried and the 1930 Pilgrimage of War Mothers and Widows to visit his grave. There are also some letters to her younger son, Dennis.

Scope and Contents Diary of Henry Fairfax Ayers. Diary embossed on cover H.F. Ayres Lt. Col. V.C.A. U.S.A. Includes 3-ring binder of extensive research from Virginia Military Institute. There is a copy of a war time picture of Ayres in the binder, as well as a photo of the painting of Ayres done by Norman Rockwell. There is also a complete hard copy transcription of the diary.

Creamer (579th Ambulance Service, US Army) about his experiences [as a mechanic] in WWI -- from his training at Allentown, Pennsylvania, to his service in Italy, and including the time leading up to the Armistice.

Charles Alfred Bredin WWI-era papers, 1918-1968

Scope and Contents A collection pf papers, letters and ephemera relating to Charles Alfred Bredin. A Diary and some materials set during his time in Co. D, 317th Machine Gun Battalion, 81st Division, AEF during the first World War. He later served with the 15th Infantry Regt. in China. Correspondence with his fiance, Grace Manning (AKA Olivia Lee Bredin). Bredin was originally from New York, and later moved to Tulsa in the 1930s.

Charles G. Aldrich WWI-era photograph album, 1917-1920

Scope and Contents This collection documents the time of Charles G. Aldrich and his time in Siberia from 1917-1920. Aldrich was with the American Army/Navy, YMCA (Young Men's Christian Association). The photos document his time in Vladivostok during the Civil War. There are photos of a few other areas, including his time aboard the ship America, etc., but the majority are of Vladivostok. Included are a couple pieces of ephemera (hand drawn card, and certificate from G. S. Phelps, National Secretary to Russia...

A manuscript diary, written is dos-a dos fashion, several pages have been torn out.
