Eliot Bliss diaries, 1959-1980

Scope and Contents The Eliot Bliss diaries, housed in five legal-sized document boxes, consist of 19 volumes of daily diaries dating from January 1959 to December 1960, and January 1963 to August 1980. Additional notes, correspondence, poems, photographs, and sales receipts are laid into many of the diaries, all of which have been noted in the inventory. Leslie Poles Hartley correspondence, 1952-1967

Scope and Contents Consists of 72 autograph letters and 5 Christmas cards (most accompanied by their envelopes) to friends and colleagues including Ian Hamilton, H. A. Rappaport, Alan Ross, and Roger Senhouse; also included is a cablegram to Hartley from Harvey Curtis Webster. The collection also holds editions of Hartley's books, books to which he contributed, and secondary critical appraisals, and an extensive run of Weekend Review, a journal to which Hartley made regular contributions.
