Scope and Contents The diary of Lieutenant Ed Granger from Aug 1917 through Jun 1919. Lt. Granger was a dentist and served the 138th Infantry Regt., 35th Infantry Div. Granger writes about his experiences in WWI. He trained at Camp Doniphan, Oklahoma.
A manuscript diary, written is dos-a dos fashion, several pages have been torn out.

Scope and Contents 1915 pocket diary, repurposed as a journal by an unknown soldier in the US Army 5th Infantry Division. Very brief entries describe his division's constant movement through France, the soldier's experiences being shelled by the Germans, snipers, dead Frencgh civilians in the streets, gas alarms while in the field, sleeping in holes in the ground, meals eaten, etc. Although each entry is marked with day and date, they are often not correct when compared to a perpetual yearly calendar.
