This artificial collection has been compiled from a number of acquisitions and included handwritten and typed manuscripts of novels, novellas and short stories. Also diaries, notebooks, photographs, personal memorabilia and correspondence with theater critic Raymond B. Marriott, George Bullock, Rhys Davies and letters, notes and drawings from K. T. Bluth to Kavan. Kavan's artwork, predominantly water color but including oil, pen and ink, and goache.
Consists of the typescript, carbon copy typescript, photocopied typescript, and galley proofs for the novel, Memoirs of a Survivor; typescript and carbon copy typescript of the novella, the Temptation of Jack Orkney; and the typesetter's copy and master galleys of The Good Terrorist.
The Eliot Bliss diaries, housed in five legal-sized document boxes, consist of 19 volumes of daily diaries dating from January 1959 to December 1960, and January 1963 to August 1980. Additional notes, correspondence, poems, photographs, and sales receipts are laid into many of the diaries, all of which have been noted in the inventory. Please refer to "Notes on my Diaries", written by Bliss.
The collection is organized into two series: Series 1: Katherine Mansfield correspondence and Series 2: Jeffrey Meyers papers (writings and research material relating to his book, Katherine Mansfield: A Biography (1978).
