This artificial collection was begun as a catch-all for small single gifts and purchases, and to make them easier for scholars to search them. This assemblage consists primarily of documents, correspondence, photographs, broadsides and artifacts, dealing mostly with United States history.

Scope and Contents Consists primarily of photographic reproductions (some with photo-negatives) plus a small number of original stereoscopes. The images feature scenes of the northwestern region of Pennsylvania--most were used to illustrate the book, Early Days of Oil, by Paul Henry Giddens. Collection consists of:

1. The Fabulous Story of Oil model oil field kit, Model #500, manufactured by Models of Industry Inc., Berkeley, CA; complete with handbook, instructions, and materials to build a drilling derrick with field equipment and men. 1957.

2. Model Oil Refinery Kit, Model #600, manufactured by Models of Industry Inc., Berkely, CA; complete with handbook, instructions, plans and materials for building a simple oil refinery. 1959.
