A letter written by Wallace from Fort Chadbourne, Texas, April 20, 1860 to Maj. G. H. Thomas, 2nd Cavalry Regiment, at Camp Cooper, Texas. He offers his regrets that he cannot comply with a request made by Major Thomas because of the presence of Indians in the vicinity.
