"...I have been thinking a great deal about the matter of the rectorship of our parish in Pittsford, and as you expressed yourself as thinking that our parish might offer opportunities for work, I am...urging that you consider our needs again...."

Copland's handwritten note, on envelope verso, is possibly a fragment of a sermon reads: "I shall be the Paschal Lamb of the Israel of God hence forth...."
