Biography
Stand Watie, also known as Standhope Uwatie, Tawkertawker, and Isaac S. Watie. v Leader of the Cherokee Nation, who, allied with the Confederacy, was the only Native American to attain a general's rank in the Civil War, Confederacy or Union.
