Biography

American, director of the Tulsa Mohawk Zoo from 1932 until retirement in 1966. Captured many animals himself, which took him around the world--including a trip with film makers to Africa. After leaving the Tulsa Zoo, Davis operated a local snake and alligator farm, and built Catoosa's Nature's Acres. Also known for building Catoosa's Blue Whale as a surprise for his wife Zelta in the 1970s, who was a fan of whales.
