Biography
Sir Ernest Alfred Thompson Wallis Budge, orientalist; born 27 July 1857, Bodmin, Cornwall; studied Hebrew and Assyrian at Christ's College, Cambridge; became assistant in British Museum's department of oriental antiquities; promoted to keeper of department of Egyptian and Assyrian antiquities; knighted in 1920; died 23 November 1934, London.
