Zebulon Montgomery Pike was an American brigadier general and explorer for whom Pikes Peak in Colorado was named.

...Laid down from the notes of Lieut. Z.M. Pike by Anthony Nau. Reduced and corrected by the Astronomical Observations of Mr. Thompson at its source and of Capt. M. Lewis where it receives the water of the Missouri.
