Biography

Henry B. Bass was born and raised in Enid; after graduating from the University of Missouri, he worked for his father's construction company, D.C. Bass and Sons, which constructed many of Enid’s major buildings including the Bass Building, the Champlin home, and the Phillips University Administration Building and Library.

Correspondence and clippings from and about Gustavus Gus Welch (1892-1970) a full blood Chippewa born in Spooner, Wisconsin, was a member of the Carlisle Indian School Class of 1911, Jim Thorpe's quarterback for the professional football team the Ohio Bulldogs in Canton, Ohio, a member of the U. S. Track Team for the 1912 Olympics, a 1917 graduate of the Dickinson School of Law and a coach at a number of institutions.
