A slide showing then mayor C. H. Hubbard with General Pershing.
General Pershing, who had commanded the American Expeditionary Force in WWI, and in the 1920s was Army Chief of Staff was in guest of honor for a parade that ended at a reception at the Hotel Tulsa. Schools were let out so that the children could witness the parade. After he was given a tour of the city culminating at the groundbreaking of the new St. John’s Hospital.
