View of the steps leading to the flagpole on an Indian mound; all that is left of the Davis Cantonment (Fort Davis), the principal Confederate outpost in northern Indian Territory during the Civil War. Located on the south bank of the Arkansas River two and one-half miles northeast of present Muskogee.
