Colored lithograph of "heights of Monterey, from the Satilla Road, looking toward the City (From the West). Worth's Division moving into position under the guns of the enemy , after the action of "St. Jermonimo", on the morning of 21st Sepr 1846."

"1. Independence (or Castle) Hill. 2. Lt. Col. Duncan's Battery of Light Infantry throwing shells at the routed Mexican Cavalry. 3. City of Monterey. 4. "Sierra Silla." Saddle Mountains." 5. Rancho (or village) of St. Jeronimo. 6. Federation Hill. First position carried by assault on the afternoon of 21st Septr. n.b. The Second Division was composed of one Regt. of Texas Cavalry, two Co's of Texs. Rangers, two batteries of Lt. Artillery, the "Artly. Battalion," the 5th, 7th, and 8th Regts. of Infantry, and one Company of Louisana Volunteers."
