"My dearest Lallin, Thanks so much for your letter and the enclosures from the children and for all your good wishes and theirs. My birthday is on Sunday and I will lean on [?], to that letters until then and so it will be Sunday I expect I shall be able to find them. I had a busy day to-day. The rumors of war to-day are much more serious than yesterday and we learnt this morning that Russia had given orders for the complete mobilisation of her forces and further than the British Fleet has sailed under sealed orders..."
