Calder-Marshall, Arthur to "My dearest wife" [Alice Calder-Marshall], 1918-03-17
Scope and Contents
Photocopy of the original letter. It is unclear why these letters are included with the collection, and may have been a separate research project that Julia Briggs was working on.
"My dearest Wife, There is a chance that I may be able to send you a letter by hand tonight and as you may perhaps [...] ones I have posted I am writing this short one in the hope that this at any rate will reach you. First of all there is at present no danger here and perhaps then [?] will in any but I have taken every precaution to enable me to get away at once should any danger arise and I am already sent off the majority of the staff. We know now that peace has been signed but we do not know yet what sort of a peace or whether it includes the German occupation of Petrograd or not..."
