"My dearest Wife, Quite a lot has happened and is still happening since I last wrote to you. The absurd cost of peace that the Bolsheviks declared, the peace that was on one side only had the result that was to the inflicted and the Germans started to advance into the country and the Bolsheviks held of their lands in horror and said if that is what you will do to us will sign the peace you wanted us to sign..."
