Scope and Contents

"My dearest Wife, It is Saturday once more and after a strenuous week I am very down in the dumps and no wonder. I have lived through one more week and nothing accomplished that is worth having accomplished. Oh I am tired of it all absolutely sick to death of it. I say another week as if a week now was like a week used to be. Yesterday is quite a month ago and last Saturday is away back in the realm of a year ago. Excuse the words, but life is Damned Rotten and I feel like the coster with the oranges. "[Bile, Bile?] no word is b----y enough". Well grousing doesn't mend matters and so it is no use grousing. One must grin and bear with it all and hope that some time or other it will end..."
