Calder-Marshall, Arthur to "My dearest wife" [Alice Calder-Marshall], 1917-11-26
Scope and Contents
Photocopy of the original letter. It is unclear why these letters are included with the collection, and may have been a separate research project that Julia Briggs was working on.
"My dearest Wife, I am once more back in Petrograd after a rather unpleasant journey from Moscow with a train of deserting soldiers. It is now just a month since the Bolshevik trouble successfully stopped my coming to you for [Floristina?] and I am afraid I shan't even get to you for the Russian Christmas and the Russian New Year but as I wired you yesterday I don't think it will be very long after the Russian New Year..."
