"My dearest Lallier, Never say again that I don't write. I have not had a word neither letter nor telegram nor postcard from you and still this is the second letter I have sent you!!! The last one was such a long one that the only news I have left to tell you is that I have arrived here safely and leave in a few hours for the North. No news in the papers of the British Fleet having count those scoundrell[sic] Germans last Wednesday and no hope of any now as they must have got back tto Germany..."
