Calder-Marshall, Arthur to "My own darling Love" [Alice Calder-Marshall], 1914-06-09
Scope and Contents
Photocopy of the original letter. It is unclear why these letters are included with the collection, and may have been a separate research project that Julia Briggs was working on.
"My own darling Wife, It has been raining all day to-day and every one says it's badly wanted. That is everyone excepting one and that one is myself. I could do without it. I came here on a mans motor and rain came in in[sic] the front. When I got out I found that more rain had been coming in at the back and seat of my trousers was wet as with tears and giants' tears at that. I don't think I shall accept of the hospitality of his motor car another wet day..."
