Photocopy of the original letter. It is unclear why these letters are included with the collection, and may have been a separate research project that Julia Briggs was working on.

"My dearest Lallie, This is my third letter so I am well in advance of you this time for I have only had one, received a day or two ago, from you and that is dated the 14 of December. So you see letters don't travel quite as quickly as I do. When I arrived I found that I had not got back a moment too soon and things would very soon have been all U.P. if I hadn't returned and I have had a somewhat worrying time pulling them round again..."
