Photocopy of the original letter. It is unclear why these letters are included with the collection, and may have been a separate research project that Julia Briggs was working on.

"My dearest Wife, I got a nice batch of letters from you last week, some recent and some ancient, the bulk being dated early in August. All the same I was veryu pleased to get them and to learn both that you had had a nice time and [Littlelamp?] and also that you had got back to Barnes safe and sound and all feeling better for the holiday..."
