Photocopy of the original letter. It is unclear why these letters are included with the collection, and may have been a separate research project that Julia Briggs was working on.
"My dearest Wife, So many thanks for your letter. I have just received a batch of five of all sorts of dates including one about the middle of February when it has been during the interval [Heaven alone knocks?], most of them are pretty ancient [...] but the same post also brought me a sixth letter enclosed in [...] of W. Redmayne's which tells me that very few of my letters have got through..."
