"My dearest Wife, This time I am going to try a short letter just to see if it reaches you any sooner than the one I have written of late. Perhaps it will. I had a letter from you this week the first for quite a long time and was very interested to get it as it gave me the news that you were once more in the throes of account troubles and didn't know but what you might be left entirely without. Well I hope that you finally succeeded in your quest..."
