Photocopy of the original letter. It is unclear why these letters are included with the collection, and may have been a separate research project that Julia Briggs was working on.

"My dearest Wife, Last week I was unable to send my letter through the Embassy, but am doing so this week. I don't get your letters by any means reegularity even now nor do I get them all so far as I can tell by the dates, but I get those that I do [recur?] much quicker and also get many more letters than I used to do when sometimes two months or so would pass without any letter arriving..."
