Coward, Noel to Mrs. Bland [Gertrude Bland], 1970-12-15
Scope and Contents
Letter is actually written by Joan Hirst, personal representative for Noel Coward, on his behalf.
Recipient is assumed to be Gertrude Bland based both on the date and mention of The Railway Children. Gertrude was nominally involved in the plays and film version of the story in the 1970s.
"Dear Mrs. Bland, Sir Noel is in Switzerland, and cannot, therefore, help you over your request. Neither he nor I had heard that there is to be a Charity Premiere of THE RAILWAY CHILDREN on December 22nd. I have just returned from visiting him in Switzerland and he did not mention it..."
