"My dear (E.N.'s special sign) In your story of the poor railway children you might put in as a touch of their poverty that on birthdays they always ask for new bread as a treat: and if you can make use of the phrase we used to hear at home "New bread's the grub that makes the butter fly" and send one of the smaller ones off on a foolish experiment in that direction, it might be amusing..."
