Housman, Laurence to Edith Nesbit, Saturday
Scope and Contents
Despite being typewritten on onionskin copy paper, this is an original, as it has a pencil drawing of a man wearing a tuxedo, glasses, and large cast on his right foot with crutches. The drawing is of Housman himself, meant to illustrate a recent injury.
"Dear (Nesbit's rebus) I have been deep away in the country, and only got back yesterday. I shall be very joyful to come and see you next year, if you will only expect me to do the minimum of dancing..."
