"Dear Madam, I take the present of yr.book about Carpets in a kind spirit though it has not done me much good personally and the trouble and fuss in the past on account of forgetfulness when I was ordered to buy serial Strands at the Station which is all of three (3) miles and uphill you should have known to appreciated. My orders were anytime I went that way to bring back a Strand and you know owing I presume to Sir G. Newnes's stinginess the Publication only comes out once a month but didn't matter to them worth a cuss..."
