Scope and Contents

"Dear Miss Nesbit, Many thanks for your note of the 10th. Honestly, if I could be sure of making something that would suit your magazine I would do it but, I haven't a thing by me. Won't you send me your prospectus and give me some sort of a lead ? Is it a baby's magazine, a child's or for young boys ? There is a very wide difference in each of these directions. I have had some little sad experience in magazining and forgive me warning you that a list of "star" names is a snare unless and until you have 12 months good matter up your sleeve to carry on with..."
