Due to the filing system Doris Langley Moore kept, these letters are glued together in a manner that is impossible to separate without permanent damage.
"Madam, In reply to your letter of the 21st ultimo, "Well Hall House" in which Evelyn Nesbitt[sic] lived, was demolished in March, 1931. The House and Grounds were purchased by the Woolwich Borough Council and it was found necessary to demolish the old building..."
"Dear Sir, I should be very much obliged if you would give me, at your earliest possible convenience, some information of the late E. Nesbit upon which I am working. E. Nesbit (Mrs. Hubert Bland) lived for nearly twenty-three years at the house known as "Well Hall" in the Well Hall district of Eltham. I visited the place recently and found that the house itself had been pulled down, and that the walls, moat, and Tudor out-buildings alone remained..."
