"Dear Skipper, Thank you very much indeed for the returned proofs. I have attended to the corrections you mention. Alas, I am afraid I cannot insert a footnote with a translation of the Latin epigraph, much as I should like to do so, because the the[sic] page on which the poem appears is technically as full as it can be, and as the print used is small, it cannot be "closed up". It would quite spoil the look of the thing if we divded the poem on to two pages..."
