"Dear Skipper, This letter is accompanied by a proof copy of the biography of E. Nesbit. It looks rather thin and pamphletish, but will be about twice as impressive when it is printed on thick paper with index, illustrations, and binding. The printing seems to me very pleasant, and I understand that the format will be worthy of it. I should be much obliged if you would read the book at your very earliest convenience and return it with as little delay as possible..."
